Terms of Use

Last updated: 10 August 2026

These terms govern your use of masteringalgorithms.com (the "Site"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Site

The Site is provided free of charge for educational purposes. You may read, print and share links to its content. You agree not to:

  • Republish substantial portions of the content as your own, or without attribution and a link back
  • Use automated systems to scrape the Site in a way that degrades service for others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site or any related systems
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or to interfere with its operation

2. Code Examples

The code listings on this Site are provided for educational purposes and you are free to use them in your own projects, including commercially, without attribution. They are illustrations written for clarity, not hardened library code: many omit input validation, error handling and the edge-case robustness that production use requires. Test anything you adopt.

This applies with particular force to the cryptography chapters. Those pages explain how cryptographic algorithms work; they are not an instruction to implement your own. Use a reviewed cryptographic library.

3. Accuracy and No Warranty

We take accuracy seriously. Code is executed before publication, examples are traced against the algorithms shown, and the Site is periodically re-audited. Nonetheless the content is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

Errors are possible. Nothing here should be treated as professional advice, and you should not rely on it as the sole basis for a decision with real consequences. Please report anything you believe to be wrong.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mastering Algorithms shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.

5. Third-Party Links and Advertising

The Site links to external resources, including LeetCode problems and technical standards. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices.

The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and may use cookies for that purpose. We do not control which specific advertisements appear. How advertising cookies are used, and how to opt out of personalised advertising, is described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual Property

The written explanations, worked examples and page design are the property of Mastering Algorithms. The algorithms themselves are, of course, not — they are long-standing public knowledge, and where a specific result is due to a named researcher the Site attributes it.

If you believe content on this Site infringes your copyright, email masteringalgorithms@gmail.com with details and it will be investigated promptly.

7. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change when they do, and continued use of the Site after that constitutes acceptance.
